It's Show Time!

Hear Me Roar is going LIVE!

This has escalated.

When we started Hear Me Roar, the general idea was that we’d sit down, have a chat, put the world to rights and occasionally remember there was a microphone recording us.

Somehow, we now have a live stage show.

An actual one.

With a theatre.

And an audience.

And us on a stage where there is absolutely nowhere to edit out the bits where we forget what we were saying.

Hear Me Roar the stage show is coming to The Little Theatre in Gateshead on 19th September, and if you enjoy the podcast - or just enjoy watching two women of a certain age make questionable decisions in public - we think you’re going to love it.

But before that, there’s a special podcast episode!

Because apparently preparing a live stage show wasn’t keeping us quite busy enough, we’ve also recorded a special Hear Me Roar episode all about the show.

It’s out on 24th August on all the usual podcast channels, and this time the guests are us.

We’re talking about how on earth the stage show happened, our worst social media experiences, and the importance of authenticity and self-awareness as we age.

Keep an eye on our social media for a little taste of what’s in store.

If you’re still wondering whether to come, it may help you make up your mind.

Although whether it persuades you to buy a ticket or to leave the country remains to be seen.

So, what exactly is the Hear Me Roar stage show?

It’s a night for women who’ve reached the age where we’ve stopped worrying quite so much about what everyone else thinks.

We’ve done sensible.

We’ve done responsible.

We’ve raised families, worked, juggled a million things, and dealt with hormones, expanding waistlines, disappearing eyebrows and the horrifying realisation that getting down onto the floor now requires a detailed plan for getting back up again.

Now we want to have a laugh about it.

And that’s really what Hear Me Roar is about.

Getting together with a theatre full of women, laughing at the ridiculousness of life and celebrating the fact that hitting midlife and beyond doesn’t mean becoming invisible.

Quite the opposite.

We’re getting older, bolder and considerably harder to embarrass.

So listen out for our special Hear Me Roar episode tomorrow, and if you fancy seeing what happens when we're allowed out from behind the microphones…

Come and see us live.

We cannot promise dignity.

In fact, at this point, we can pretty much guarantee there won’t be any.
